Hands Free

Users commonly cite the fact that they use a hands free kit as being a reason as to why they do not fear radiation from their mobile phone.

A report carried out by Which? Magazine in May 2000 concluded that using a hands free kit actually increased the problem of radiation to the head. The report stated that the cable connected from the phone to the earpiece acted as a conductor and directed the radiation directly into the head.

An article in the Daily Express in March 2000 also recommended that "you never carry your phone in a pocket or clipped to your belt as your liver, kidney, heart and other internal organs are not protected by a layer of bone the way the skull helps to protect the brain".
